We strive to provide a continuum of services in the Child and Family Division. Part of our array includes several Family Preservation programs. These services are connected by being strength based, individualized and focused on keeping children safe in their own home. Families First Serving Barry, Eaton and Calhoun counties.Families First of Michigan (FFM) works with children who are at risk for out of home placement. Services are focused on making community connections, increasing natural supports, budgeting and education. FFM is a voluntary program that provides intense services (a minimum of ten hours per week) to quickly (28 days) stabilize and preserve the family. For information:Rhea Freitag, Director(269) 964-9235rfrei@lssm.org Home-Based ServicesServing Calhoun CountyAll of our Home Based Services programs build upon strengths as families work together to make changes when dealing with a child that has an emotional disturbance. Services can include: individual, couples and family counseling, play therapy, advocacy, community connections, respite and psychiatric care. Home Based Family Treatment For children aged 4 to 17 who have a serious emotional disturbance, a diagnosis of a mental illness, and who have previously participated in therapeutic services. Targeted Children’s Case Management For children aged 4 to 17 with a mental illness. The amount of case manager involvement will depend on the intensity of
the child’s needs. Toddler-Infant Parent Program For families with a child aged 3 or under where the primary caregiver has a mental health diagnosis that interferes with his or her ability to parent.
