What is the Keep the Faith, Touch a Life Appeal? The Appeal is an annual program to give employees the opportunity to support the LSSM programs and services they believe in.
Why is the Keep the Faith, Touch a Life Appeal so important? As you know, LSSM’s budget is largely driven by state and federal funding sources. For many of our programs, the program costs exceed the service fees received. In order for LSSM to carry out our important mission of serving some of Michigan’s most needy individuals, we need your financial support. Staff contributions provide critical funding to help meet that budget shortfall. Equally as important is the strong message this appeal sends to those outside the organization, announcing to alumni, friends, corporations and foundations that we are leading the way in providing for the people we serve and that this truly is an institution worthy of support.
How can I make my gift?
Remember, every gift is important — and your participation is what counts!
May I designate my gift?Yes! You may direct your gift to a specific LSSM program. However, your unrestricted gift is encouraged and applied to the greatest need.

Your fellow employees say why they chose to financially support the mission.
“I KNOW LSSM and I trust that my donation will be used in a prudent manner and that the majority of it will be used directly by the various programs. You can call it ‘one stop shopping,’ but this is one way to help out a number of people without writing a number of different checks. LSSM helps people who really need assistance at various times in their lives and we all know people who have ‘fit this bill.’ I am grateful to be able to give back through an agency which really expresses through all of us, the ‘love of Christ.’”
– Mary Ellen White, Director, Heartline
“I donate to LSSM because I believe that a leader should inspire a shared vision and, by financially supporting LSSM, we can all have a sense of community. I want to encourage you to not only from your heart work for the people we serve but also financially support our vision.”
-- Sharon Brower-Uherek, Program Manager, The Woods at MapleCreek
“I believe that God wants good for all of his people and LSSM is one structured way of providing that good in many different ways for many different groups of his people. It continues to be rewarding and exciting to know about the goodness in serving seniors in our nursing homes, assisted living and independent living centers; to know that children are being shown what good is a will know good through foster care and adoption; that refugees will know what good is from being helped to start new lives; and persons with disabilities of all kinds will experience good in a home and family setting. In believing that God wants good for his people, I am proud to work for and contribute to an organization that is, indeed, providing that good.”
