Magician Maciek Biezunski has performed professionally for hundreds of shows at churches, libraries, schools, senior living communities and community events. On Feb. 10, he came to Trinity Chapel at The Terraces. MapleCreek residents, family members and staff enjoyed his amazing performance featuring dozens of tricks. His eye-popping illusions included the use of scarves, ropes, rings, handkerchiefs, lit candles, plus magically appearing birds and rabbits.
After his show, Maciek - who came from Poland 17 years ago - explained that birds like those he uses in his act can live 40 years, and that it takes years to get them to trust him and not flinch when he waves his arms near their heads. He rescued the big white rabbit named Blizzard in California. The smaller black and white rabbit he calls Domino. He and his wife were in a pet shop and this bunny was on clearance. He asked why, and the owner said its brother had bitten its ear. Maciek took one look at the beautiful coloring of the fur and he said, "I'm going to make you a star!"
The residents were eager to pet the rabbits. Jane Donk, shown holding Blizzard, gestured toward the magician and told everyone, "He's coming to our church next month. I recommended him." Anyone who was there to witness Maciek's performance of wonderful illusion now knows that a magic show really does bring out the "little kid" in all of us.
