Luther Manor residents hunt groundhogs

Bad weather on Groundhog Day failed to dampen the spirits at Luther Manor in Saginaw, where the annual groundhog hunt was in full swing. Staffers Nancy Abbott, Courtney Robishaw and Cynthia Williams hid tongue depressors with a small construction-paper groundhog attached; they were within easy reach and sight. Residents exhanged their “groundhog sticks” for candy treats. Champion hunter Loretta Durst, who found 26 sticks, won a stuffed groundhog.  The photo shows Courtney Robishaw, census development coordinator, presenting Loretta with her prize.
