Help us help someone in need. Lutheran Social Services of Michigan is hosting its first used goods donation drive in Grand Rapids on Nov. 13.-14, 2010. Donated goods will go to needy clients (refugees, foster children) of Lutheran Social Services of Michigan OR for resale at the ACTION Thrift Store in Saginaw to support our programs.

The drive will receive donations at the former fire station building next door (just east) to Faith Lutheran Church, Fuller Ave. and 3 Mile Rd. People are invited to stop by and drop off used furniture, working appliances, pillows & bedding, electronics, pots & pans, silverware, lamps, dishes and more, all in good useable condition.

Drop off times are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday Nov. 13, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday Nov. 14. All items must be clean and in good working condition. We welcome furniture (living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom), mattresses and box springs, bedding, large and small appliances, portable TVs, CD players, radios, computers (Windows 95 or newer), kitchenware, household goods, gently used clothing, toys, games, tools.

(Sorry, we cannot accept books, records, greeting cards, knives, guns, prescription drugs or over-the-counter medicines.)
