An Antique Appraisal Fair last Saturday at Maple Village, LSSM's premier retirement community in Bloomfield Hiills, raised $900. The funds will be donated to Heartline, a community justice program for women in Detroit. Ninety people attended the fair, bringing their treasured artworks, jewelry, coins and other items for appraisal by antiques professionals. One oil painting was appraised at $2,000. There was also a lot of interest in an antique jeweled sword of Middle Eastern origin.

Do you have an old piece art or jewelry from Grandma or Great Aunt Helen that might be worth big bucks? Is that interesting vase you picked up at a garage sale really valuable? Find out at Maple Village’s Antique Appraisal Fair on Saturday, September 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring up to four items for appraisal by local antiques experts from DuMouchelles, John Frank Rare Coins, Del Guidice Antiques and Wachler Estate Collection. Admission is $10, and proceeds will benefit Heartline, LSSM’s community justice program for women. All items must be carried by the owner (no large items or wheeled carts, please). Valet parking and box lunches will be available. Maple Village is at 6257 Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Hills, just north of Maple Road.
