Volunteers provide invaluable help to Lutheran Social Services’ staff and consumers: everything from running the ACTION Thrift Store in Saginaw to playing Bingo with seniors and mentoring teens in foster care.

Some volunteers work on a regular schedule, others on a one-time basis. Every year, volunteers donate thousands of hours of their time.

• Your youth group, church, family or group of friends can organize a service project. Hold a bake sale and donate the proceeds to senior adults. Organize a toiletry drive or clothing drive to help incoming refugees.
• Write to your public officials to advocate for issues you believe in. Join our Advocacy network for updates on current issues, and links to write e-mails to your public officials.
• Donate clothing, toiletries, furniture, time or money to help the people we serve. Check our database of volunteer projects or contact the center nearest your to find out their current needs.
